Are Microplastics Effecting Your Health? | How to Find Out & What To Do, With Dr. Farah Alrajaan
What are microplastics and toxic chemicals really doing to our health—and how can we reduce our everyday exposure?
In this episode of The Live Lightly Podcast, I’m joined by Dr. Farah Alrajaan, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Dietitian, for an eye-opening conversation about the growing health concerns surrounding microplastics, plastics, phthalates, and everyday chemical exposure.
Together, we explore how common household products and daily habits may contribute to our overall toxic load, and why many researchers and health professionals are increasingly concerned about the connection between environmental toxins, hormone disruption, inflammation, and rising chronic illness.
Dr. Alrajaan shares practical ways to identify hidden sources of microplastic and chemical exposure in the home, why supporting the body’s natural detoxification pathways matters, and how choosing organic foods may help reduce exposure to harmful chemicals commonly found in conventional food systems and plastic packaging.
This conversation also dives into the deeper connection between personal health and environmental sustainability, highlighting how the choices we make every day can impact not only our own well-being, but also the health of future generations.
If you’re a busy mom, health-conscious consumer, or someone trying to create a healthier, low-tox home without feeling overwhelmed, this episode will leave you informed, empowered, and inspired to take small but meaningful steps toward reducing toxic exposure in your daily life.
